The Contemporary Issues in Emergency Medicine conference is an annual half-day presentation by the Department of Emergency Medicine at Upstate Medical University. The conference is developed keeping in mind the broad range of providers so vital to the success of the field of emergency medicine. The topics are chosen for their applicability to the practice of, and perceived interest by EMS providers, ED nurses and emergency physicians as well as other health care providers who deal with the sick or injured patient. Efforts are made to be inclusive of lecture material pertinent to all of these providers. The Contemporary Issues in Emergency Medicine Highlights of 2016-2017 Academic Year: Emergency Medicine at its Best, will focus on several speakers from the fellowship programs offered within the department of Emergency Medicine.
