The Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) serves as the nation’s
only non-profit trade organization dedicated to promoting the full participation
of Minority/Women/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise/Small Business enterprises
in airport contracting and employment opportunities. AMAC aims to eliminate
barriers to minority and women participation in a multi-billion dollar global
industry.
The 19th Annual AMAC Economic Opportunity and Policy Forum serves as
the idea “flight plan” for companies seeking business opportunities with airports
throughout the United States that will take your business global! The Hilton
Americas Hotel located in downtown Houston will serve as a spectacular destination
for the two and one-half day forum.
The Houston Airport System (HAS), the 4th largest multi-airport system in the
United States, will serve as host and presenting sponsor for approximately 300
members and other conference attendees who represent airport operators, airline
executives, government officials, prime and M/W/DBE/S contractors.
The travel plan includes leadership development workshops and policy discussions
that address urgent industry concerns. The widely-held Regional Business Matchmaking
Forum will connect M/W/DBE/S with prime companies and airports for one-on-one
meetings to discuss upcoming subcontracting, potential partnerships and millions
of dollars worth of procurement opportunities.
Proceeds from this conference will support the on-going initiatives of AMAC
and provide scholarships, career awareness and leadership development opportunities
for students aimed at increasing more minorities and women representation in
the airport industry through the AMAC Education and Scholarship Program.
