19th Annual Health Care Compliance Conference

Program Overview

The 19th Annual Health Care Compliance Conference, presented by the University of Rochester Medical Center Compliance Office, will address emerging compliance program developments and risks affecting health care providers throughout our region.  Our speakers will: update you on the latest developments and activities of the US Attorney’s Office; provide invaluable guidance to reduce your hospital outpatient billing risks; help you better understand the risks and opportunities associated with MACRA; bring you the latest information, rules and requirements related to telemedicine; and discuss the emerging roles and compliance risks associated with the use of scribes and team based strategies to improve clinical documentation.

Our keynote speakers will be in the form of a panel from the U.S. Department of Justice including Kathleen Lynch and Peggy McFarland from the Western District of New York and Michael Gadarian from the Northern District of New York.  Both offices will describe current issues and settlements of interest to providers. Next, Andrew Ruskin will address Medicare hospital Provider Based Status rules and risks.  Robert Trusiak and Dennis Horrigan will then provide an overview of the changes to Medicare physician reimbursement resulting from the MACRA program, and will describe strategies for mitigating program related risk.  A panel of speakers will cover Telemedicine from both an operations and regulatory perspective.  The final session of the day will address the use of Scribes and Team Based Documentation strategies, and provide guidance on key regulatory risks.

Due to space constraints, the 2017 conference will be limited to the first 225 attendees.  Please register early to ensure your seat!
