The Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA) will host its 19th Annual Spring Life Settlement Conference in Las Vegas at the Venetian Resort between May 29-31, 2013.LISA will once again assemble a wide range of outstanding speakers whose expertise and viewpoints are in high demand within and outside the life settlement industry.With new opportunities for consumers and capital to participate in the life settlement market, we are excited about this year’s Spring Conference” said Darwin Bayston, President of LISA, which has enjoyed increased attendance at each of the last three conferences, a sign of the increased activity and investments being made in the market. “The topics, speakers and attendee participation will focus on the growing industry, including presentations aimed at increasing consumer awareness and policy submissions and attracting institutional capital to the market,” Bayston stated.The Spring Conference will feature a highly anticipated address by London Business School Professor. Narayan Y. Naik, who will be presenting results of his extensive research into the life settlement market — 9,000 policies over 10 years with an aggregate net death benefit of more than $24 billion. The results will focus on the benefits realized by both sellers of policies and investors.In addition, conference attendees will watch the winners of the 2013 University of Houston Law Center National Moot Court Championship, re-enact their winning presentation which focused on legal issues in the secondary market for life insurance.
