Ms. Rheem contributes in-depth market reports, survey findings, and analysis for PhoCusWright's Global and European Edition Research Subscription, Special Reports and custom client needs in her role as director, research. As the author of PhoCusWright's Consumer Travel Report and Going Green: The Business Impact of Environmental Awareness on Travel, one of her core areas of focus is consumer research. Carroll also leverages her experience in hotel distribution for publications including PhoCusWright's U.S. Online Travel Overview, and oversees content for the PhoCusWright Research Subscription: European Edition. Prior to joining the team, Carroll spent six years working for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide in various positions encompassing hotel operations, sales and global online distribution. She holds a Master of Management in Hospitality from Cornell University and a BA in Economics from New York University.

Stephen Barth, author of Hospitality Law and coauthor of Restaurant Law Basics, is an attorney, the founder of HospitalityLawyer.com and the annual Hospitality Law Conference series. As a professor at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, University of Houston, he teaches courses in hospitality law and leadership. He has over twenty years of experience in hospitality operations, including line positions, management, and ownership.
Stephen is a founding member of the Hospitality Industry Bar Association. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas. He is also a mediator and a strong proponent for alternative dispute resolution.
Stephen’s articles on legal and leadership issues appear regularly in Lodging Hospitality, Hotel and Motel Management, CHEERS, NightClub and Bar, and HospitalityLawyer.com. Joe Bates joined the GBTA Foundation, the research and education arm of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), in early 2010. Joe is responsible for the entire research program at both GBTA and the GBTA Foundation. This includes directing the activities of sponsored studies, such as the annual Global Business Travel Market Metrics Study and the quarterly U.S. Business Travel Quarterly Outlook, in addition to business and market research, such as membership and event attendee surveys.
Joe has more than 15 years of experience in the research industry and is an expert in both qualitative and quantitative research design, implementation, analysis, and consulting. He has spent more than 10 years in the non-profit sector and his background also includes research in the areas of political polling, healthcare, law and manufacturing.
Joe has been a guest lecturer on research methods at The College of William and Mary, George Mason University, Northern Virginia Community College, The Greater Washington Society of Association Executives, and the Marketing Research Association.
