2012 Joint COPs Summer Meeting

Summary

The Joint COPs meeting is the annual meeting of the various Committees on Organization and Policy (COP) of the various sections of the A۰P۰L۰U Board on Agriculture Assembly (Academic Programs, Cooperative Extension, Experiment Station, and International Agriculture) as well as the Executive Committee of the Administrative Heads Section (AHS). The meeting begins at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, the COPs will meet jointly.  After a luncheon for all participants, with the AHS Executive Committee and the various COPs meeting in their individual section meetings sponsored by the Experiment Station Committee on Organization (ESCOP).  The COPs and the AHS Executive Committee return to their individual section meetings on Thursday, July 26, 2012.

Moving the Morrill Act into the Future is the theme of this year’s meeting. The joint sessions of the COPs meeting will examine the challenges and opportunities facing the land-grant university system and potential strategies to address them, renewing and reframing the partnership with USDA, and strengthening public/private partnerships. These sessions will take place from 8:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2012.

The BAA Budget and Advocacy Committee (BAC) will meet from noon until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2012. The BAA Policy Board of Directors will meet from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2012. To view a full agenda please click here.

All meetings will be held at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront Hotel (100 General McIntosh Boulevard) in Savannah, Georgia.
