The Mid-Career Women Faculty Professional Development Seminar is a three-and-a-half-day program designed for women holding medical school appointments at the associate professor level, and holding leadership positions within their discipline, department or institution.
Assistant professors and full professors may be considered based on experience. This year’s seminar will take place at the AT&T Executive Education Conference Center in Austin, TX.
The program goal is to enhance knowledge and skills needed to support progress along the path to leadership in academic medicine. The seminar covers leadership topics including but not limited to: “The Art and Style of Interpersonal Communication”, “Managing from the Middle”, and “Financing the Academic Mission”. Additionally, the seminar offers skills related to the formation and use of teams, which are central to effective collaboration in various mission-critical activities. Small group “idea factories” will serve as venues for participants to work in small groups to brainstorm ways to advance women in academic medicine and science.
The online application period opened on September 3, 2013 and closed on October 1, 2013. We are not accepting additional applications at this time. If you did apply to the seminar, notices will be sent out via email by mid October.
