What is No Place for Hate®
As a member of the Dignity Act’s Task Force and Professional Development committee, ADL New York is looking to recognize 100 schools throughout New York State for the 2014-2015 school year through our FREE No Place For Hate® initiative.
No Place For Hate is designed to enhance a culture of respect and to create a safe, bully-free learning environment for students at all grade levels. In compliance with the Dignity Act, No Place For Hate offers schools the opportunity to be recognized for their staff development and student training related to bullying, harassment and discrimination.
No Place for Hate is successful at every grade level, from pre-K through Grade 12, and is embraced by public, private and parochial schools across the country. As one principal stated in a newsletter to family members, “(As a result of participating in No Place For Hate), our discipline referral rate cut in half when compared to the previous year. In addition, our Out-of-School Suspension rate dropped by 58% and our In-School Suspension rate decreased by 26%.”
