ACCSC Professional Development Conference

September 17 - 19, 2014
The Westin Denver Downtown | Denver, Colorado

The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges is excited to host the 2014 Professional Development Conference scheduled for September 17 - 19, 2014, at The Westin Denver Downtown in Denver, Colorado.

Now in its eighth year, the ACCSC Professional Development Conference is designed to provide a dynamic slate of training opportunities for managers and operators of ACCSC-accredited institutions - from full day workshops to a variety of educational break-out sessions across a range of important topics relevant to today's important issues. In addition, the majority of the educational break-out sessions are created, implemented, and presented by school managers and operators representing the ACCSC community who bring hands-on experience and provide tangible take-aways for participants. The result is a unique training event centered around best practices from an institution's perspective and an opportunity to participate in ACCSC's "Community of Partners in Education."

Program

This year's program of events offers a diverse array of training opportunities for the ACCSC membership. In 2014, the PDC program is designed around four Focus Areas:

Trends and Innovations in Higher Education

Career and Student Services

Faculty and Staff Development

Best Practices in Assessment and Accreditation

But the PDC is so much more than just training. The PDC is all about community. It provides an opportunity for the membership to hear directly from the leadership of the Accrediting Commission on the latest initiatives and activities impacting the sector, and a forum to celebrate the success of high-performing institutions and dedicated individuals.

The Commission invites all conference participants to a kick-off Welcome Reception and an Awards Luncheon to celebrate the success of high-performing institutions and dedicated individuals. Please see the PDC Agenda for times.

Supporting Professional Development

In an effort to recognize our accredited member schools' support of, and dedication to, ongoing professional development for members of school management, ACCSC will be issuing professional development certificates to PDC and Pre-Conference Workshop participants. These certificates, issued by the Accrediting Commission, are intended to serve as documentation to demonstrate the implementation of an aspect of the school's overall professional development activities required by accrediting standards.
