|Dear MVSS Member:
You may now submit your 2014 Annual Dues on-line.
2014 Annual Dues Invoices have been mailed. Dues must be paid upon receipt of the invoice.
Members are also required to make necessary revisions to their information for the Society’s membership database. Members of the Society with email addresses are encouraged to pay for their dues electronically. For this reason, it is important that we have your correct email address in our database. Only members with email addresses are able to take advantage of the on-line dues processing program. In the future, all Annual Meeting and other notifications will be sent electronically.
Please encourage your partners and colleagues to join the Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society as Active Members. The Society is now accepting applications, which will be reviewed by the MVSS Membership Committee and submitted for approval by the Executive Council at its Meeting in June.
In addition to Active Membership, please remember that the Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society has two additional categories of Membership: Candidate Membership and Associate Membership. We encourage all fellows in vascular training and all 0+5 vascular surgical residents to apply for Candidate Membership in the Society. Healthcare professionals who are not surgeons, but have an interest in vascular disease are invited to apply as Associate Members. Again, applications are now being accepted and may be found on the Society’s Web Site at www.vascularweb.org/mvss or by contacting the Society’s Administrative Offices.
Plans for “Midwestern Vascular 2014” are underway. The 38th Annual Meeting will be held September 4-6, 2014 at the Coralville Marriott Hotel, Coralville (Iowa City). The meeting will include presentation of special interest topics in the New Horizons for Vascular Surgery Session and will also feature the Mock Orals program for vascular surgery fellows. This year, the Mock Orals will be expanding to include simulation training, and promises to be an excellent educational experience for our trainees. Additional information will be available soon.
The Society will begin accepting abstracts for Midwestern Vascular 2014 later this month. The abstract submission deadline is Monday, April 28, 2014. Please check the Society’s website, www.vascularweb.org/mvss and go to the 2014 Annual Meeting page for submission and other information as it becomes available. Fellows and Residents are invited to submit their research work for the Charles C. Guthrie Award for Basic Research, D. Emerick Szilagyi Award for Clinical Research and the John R. Pfeifer Venous Award. Finally, the Society will be applying for CME to offer Self-Assessment credits that meet the ABS/VSB requirements for MOC for the entire Midwestern Vascular 2014 annual meeting.
If you have any comments or questions, please contact the Society's Administrative Offices.
