The Industry/University Cooperative Research Centers (I/UCRC) program develops long-term partnerships among industry, academe, and government. It is the National Science Foundation's first centers program, and has over 30 years of documented outcomes increasing the innovation capacity of the United States. As appropriate, an I/UCRC uses international collaborations to advance these goals within the global context. These centers serve a diverse set of industry sectors and currently attract over 1000 memberships from industries, large and small, to support their cooperative research portfolios.
The 2014 NSF Industry/University Cooperative Research Centers (I/UCRC) Annual Meeting objectives are as follows:
- Provide a forum for NSF, I/UCRC Directors, Evaluators, Operations Support, and other I/UCRC stakeholders to interact and exchange information and ideas about best practices, and common challenges and opportunities
- Afford NSF the opportunity to brief and get feedback from the I/UCRCs on program-related issues and information, including the I/UCRC’s role in integrative discovery and innovation
- Facilitate peer exchange on technical and management issues and promote increased collaboration and cooperation among Centers
- Support efforts by the I/UCRCs to become truly collaborative high performance innovation organizations
Please note as you navigate the website that the use of the word "Director" includes Center Directors, Co-Directors, and Site Directors, as well as their counterparts among Planning Grantee and potential Planning Grantee attendees.
