Recently, University of Colorado Health and Denver Health embarked upon an effort to provide leading edge, state of the art trauma care to all of Colorado, as well as the surrounding region. This new consortium combines the talents, resources and expertise of several leading hospitals, up and down the Front Range of Colorado. Denver Health is collaborating with Memorial Hospital, University of Colorado Hospital, Medical Center of the Rockies and Poudre Valley Hospital to provide unparalleled trauma care to those we serve. In the future, you will see many exciting developments, as a result of this collaborative effort. As a key are of focus, the consortium recognizes the need to bring educational resources to all of our partners who join us in caring for the injured patient. This Acute Care Surgery and EMS conference is the cornerstone of that effort. The intent of the conference is to bring together, on an annual basis, national and regional experts to present a conference that is educational, interactive and engaging. The curriculum is crafted by the members of the University of Colorado Health & Denver Health Trauma Consortium to meet a broad range of educational needs. The intent is for the conference to be impactful for all of our trauma colleagues, whether pre-hospital or hospital based. In addition to a broad range of topics, of interest to all participants, we are dedicating significant resources of our conference towards the educational needs and interests of our EMS colleagues, with many topics geared towards the unique characteristics of their professional environment. This year the University of Colorado Heath & Denver Health Trauma Consortium: Acute Care Surgery, Trauma and EMS Conference, will be held on August 23 and 24, 2014, in downtown Colorado Springs.
