PHI Protection – An Industry Call to Action
The threats to healthcare PHI have never been greater. Combined with an increasingly complex landscape of changing state and federal regulatory requirements, healthcare organizations are at risk and challenged to manage and protect healthcare data.
The third annual 2015 PHI Protection Network Conference will gather senior privacy, compliance, and security officers to share best practices and insights that will provide all attendees with tangible and actionable take-aways that can be implemented inside healthcare organizations today. The 2015 Conference will again be in Anaheim, CA and attract hundreds of attendees from across the U.S. including compliance executives, providers, business associates, government, legal and technology organizations.
PPN is an interactive network of PHI protectors and solutions providers. This cross-industry group was formed to help expedite the adoption of PHI best practices. Many members contributed to the report The Financial Impact of Breached Protected Health Information: A Business Case for Enhanced PHI Security—calling for enhanced security to safeguard protected health information--issued in March 2012 with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), via its Identity Theft Prevention and Identity Management Standards Panel (IDSP), in partnership with The Shared Assessments Program, and the Internet Security Alliance (ISA).
