High School Programming
High school teens can join and take part alongside participants of all ages¬ – sharing opinions, learning, celebrating Shabbat, and getting to know leaders of the Reform Movement.
While the Biennial is open to teen registrants, it is not an official NFTY event. Teen registrants have the option of either staying with their parents who are also attending (don't forget to remind them to register!) or, for an additional fee, the NFTY staff will provide housing and supervision throughout the Biennial. See FAQs about High School Participants »
Congregational Leadership Track:
This opportunity is especially great for youth group president and high school students serving as leaders in a congregation. Teens will be registered in the congregational leaders track, participating alongside adult leaders from Wednesday to Friday. There will also be a unique opportunity for teens to take part in a Youth Social Action Symposium, being held on Friday afternoon. They are encouraged to sign up for the Youth Symposium when registering on the Biennial site.
Once registered, high school delegates will be part of a special cohort, where NFTY professional staff will serve as mentors to help them navigate the Biennial convention, choose workshops and sessions, and provide a micro-community to debrief and check-in throughout the event. High school students must register as a delegate to the congregational leaders track in order to attend the Wednesday to Friday program. Interested teens, and their parents, should speak to their congregational staff or president about attending as a teen delegate.
Shabbat at Biennial: November 6-8
Any Jewish teen (regardless of affiliation or leadership role) is invited to join with thousands of other Jews for the best Shabbaton in the world - complete with spirited worship, Shabbat meals, learning, and a variety of unique activities from which to choose. Teens will hear from well-known speakers, rock with Jewish musicians, and more, as we welcome the 2016 Presidential Candidates to the Biennial stage for a forum moderated by Meet The Press' Chuck Todd.
