How to Join WESTOP
Thank you for your interest in the Western Association of Educational Opportunity Personnel (WESTOP). There are hundreds of WESTOP members residing in Arizona, California, Nevada, and the Pacific Islands. We are one of ten regional associations dedicated to furthering educational opportunities for low income, first generation, and students with disabilities. WESTOP provides its members with a variety of opportunities to network and develop professionally on an annual basis through chapter meetings; professional development seminars, trainings, and roundtables; and our annual regional conference.
WESTOP membership is valid from July 1, 2016 -June 30, 2017 A discounted rate is being offered from July 1, 2016 – October 6, 2016. The regular membership rate will be effective October 7, 2016 – June 30, 2017.
Membership Categories and Rates
*Individual/Professional/Alumni: $125 per membership year.
Individual/Professional/Alumni membership is open to anyone interested in becoming a member of WESTOP. If you belong to a corporation or organization providing services for a fee to WESTOP members you must register as a corporation not individual membership.
Discounted Price-$80 from July 1, 2016 – October 6, 2016.
Benefits: Reduced rates for Regional and Chapter events (i.e. Professional Development Seminars, Annual Conferences) and voting privileges (Chapter and Region elections)*Institutional: Rates based on the tier system.
The entire institution benefits from reduced rates for regional and chapter events; however, voting privileges are limited to the designated institutional voting members associated with each tier. Program funds may be used to purchase institutional membership.Discounted Rate-July 1, 2016 –October 6, 2016
Regular Membership Price from October 6, 2016 – June 30, 2017
Benefits: Reduced rates for Regional and Chapter events (i.e. Professional Development Seminars, Annual Conferences) and voting privileges (Chapter and Region elections).*Student: $25 per membership year.
Student membership is open to undergraduate or graduate students that are not employed full –time. Students must submit proof of enrollment. Voting privileges are prohibited.
Benefits: Reduced rates for Regional and Chapter events*Retiree: $50 per membership year.
Is open to any retired (and not a full-time education equity employee) person having previously qualified for individual or institutional membership and wish to continue to promote and advocate access to educational opportunities on behalf of low-income, first generation students and persons with disabilities.Benefits: Reduced rates for Regional and Chapter events and voting privileges (Chapter and Region elections).*Corporate: $250 per membership year.
Is open to any business or industry wishing to financially support the work of WESTOP. This Membership has no voting rights. If you belong to a corporation or organization that is providing services for a cost you must register as a corporation. Instructions to Register an Institution
Cvent will prompt the person registering for institutional membership for ONE designated person to oversee the membership at that specific institution.
This will become the contact for that institution’s membership. This designated person will then have the opportunity to add in additional members during the registration process. Please add the additional voting members under guests and pay the appropriate fee if necessary.
If the names are not available at the time of registration, the designated contact must send them to the WESTOP Membership & Elections Chair immediately. Only those members on record with the Membership & Elections Chair will be forwarded to the Chapter Presidents as voting members.New EmployeesNew professionals hired after July 1, 2016 may sign up for membership after this date. Eligible professionals may register at the discounted rate of $80 with proof of their hiring date. If you have not received an invitation for membership, you may register by clicking on the Membership Payment Link.
Paper membership applications are not available. All membership registrations must be completed online via Cvent. An individual not registered and paid in Cvent is not a WESTOP member.
Payment with a check: Proceed to register via Cvent and indicate a check as your payment option. Include who the check is for (member name(s) in the memo section of the check.
