2016 High School Placement Test

What are Testing Accommodations?

If a student has a documented disability, the student may register to take the High School Placement Test with testing accommodations.  Types of testing accommodations include preferential seating, repeated directions, and extended time.

Appropriate documentation of requested accommodations must be on file with the current elementary school, and the request for testing accommodations must be made on the HSPT registration form.

Acceptable documentation includes any of the following:

  • CAP
  • ICEP
  • Psycho-educational evaluation (completed in the past three years)

During the admissions/enrollment process, parents should provide the high school(s) with similar information regarding their child’s specific educational needs to ensure accurate placement.

For additional information about testing accommodations, please contact the Student Assistance Team at your child's school, or the Director for Special Education at 301-853-4569.

  • September 6, 2016 - October 28, 2016:

Register for the HSPT and reply "yes" to the registration question, "Are you requesting testing accommodations?"
