Kansas 4-H Leadership Weekend includes activities for both youth and
adults, the Kansas 4-H Volunteers Forum and the Kansas Youth Leadership
Youth participants must be 14-18 years old before January 1, 2017. Youth do not have to be 4-H members to attend.
can register to attend either the Kansas Volunteer Forum or the Kansas
Youth Leadership Forum. This year there will be a special presentation
by the Kansas Leadership Center for the Kansas Volunteer Forum.
youth delegates must have an adult chaperone that will be responsible
for them during the Forum (including medical and discipline concerns).
Counties and Districts are encouraged to work together to secure
chaperones. A designated adult chaperone is required for every 10
delegates, and we will need both male and female chaperones. Chaperones
must be at least 21 years of age, must be Volunteer Screened and
Registered with their local Extension Office and must pay the fee. Chaperones will be housed at management discretion in either KYLF or KVF housing depending on space and supervision needs.
Chaperone Orientation will be pre-recorded and posted to the Kansas 4-H
website by November 5. Chaperones can listen to this call at their own
convenience. If they have any questions, please call the state 4-H
office. Adult chaperones must be on site full-time.
