The purpose of this meeting is to develop program strategies, budgets, and long- and short-term plans for the National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS). The meeting also serves to bring together all program sectors—management, research, education, training, and stewardship, as well as representatives from the NERRS Friends and Foundations—and provide relevant, targeted information and training.
This is a working meeting of interdisciplinary colleagues within the reserve system—all of whom are guided by similar mandates and funding sources. Because the 2016 Annual Meeting is the primary planning meeting for the year, attendance by core staff members is a requirement of the NOAA operations grant award that supports reserve program planning and implementation.
The 2016 Annual Meeting is hosted by NOAA and the National
Estuarine Research Reserve Association (NERRA), in collaboration with the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Virginia.
Note: Sunday trainings and Friday sessions will be optional.
