PACEC’s 57th Annual Convention, Planting the Seeds of Inspiration, will host a variety of valuable sessions, workshops, and posters in a range of general and special education areas. There are a variety of students, parents, general and special educators, teacher education faculty and so many others providing valuable information for the convention.
New for this year: we will have a strand on Thursday that will focus on topics specific to either learning disabilities (sponsored by DLD) or behavioral disorders (sponsored by CCBD)!
We will also continue by having our lead in CASE day, and a half day student strand.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
In addition to the conference, PACEC will have the Scholastic Book Fair on Thursday, to benefit a school in need. Stop by to make a purchase, nominate a school and/or donate to the ALL FOR BOOKS PROGRAM. Donating to the ALL FOR BOOKS PROGRAM will help PACEC purchase books for the chosen school in need. In addition Scholastic Books Fair will match each donation by providing books to a National Non-Profit Organization (Kids in Need Foundation or K.I.D.S. - Kids in Distressed Situations - $100 raised =$100 worth of books donated).

Shane Burcaw, Laughing at My Nightmare
Author, entrepreneur, award-winning blogger, Emmy-winning producer, and inspirational speaker, Shane Burcaw brings a spirited, humorous approach to everything he does. His bestselling memoir was shortlisted for the ALA Excellence in Nonfiction Award. He is the President of the nonprofit Laughing At My Nightmare, Inc. His blog, (Laughing At My Nightmare) about the humor of living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, has over half a million followers. In his free time he enjoys running people over in his wheelchair, hanging out with his brother and friends, and traveling.
PA Student Council for Exceptional Students
Devin Forgey, PASCEC President, along with the student board, have been working hard to make this conference great for all of the students attending. An invitation to all students attending, has been extended to become actively involved in the Student Delegate Assembly, which is where students can be elected to the student board. Many student sessions will be presented including a networking session where students can meet and talk about their experiences and their schools SCEC chapters. The student board has also been working on the student store that will be available during the convention along with a Basket Raffle.
Please stop by and support their hard work and remember to bring cash!!!
During the luncheon meeting for subdivisions, there will be a table for PASCEC members to welcome new members, and an opportunity for you to join in on a subdivision of your own interest!
