2017 Integrating Quality MeetingAchieving the Quadruple Aim
Loews Chicago O'Hare Hotel
The Triple Aim has been steadily gaining momentum in the U.S. during the past few years. By pursuing the goals of improving the health of the population, enhancing the patient experience, and reducing the costs of quality health care, the Triple Aim is guiding the redesign of health care systems, and is increasingly impacting medical and health professions education.
More recently, there is the recognition that achieving the Triple Aim requires highly effective health care organizations of which the foundation is an engaged and productive workforce. The well-being of the academic medicine workforce has emerged as a critical issue facing leaders, faculty, physicians and other care providers, researchers, trainees, and students. AAMC is focused on the fourth aim as well -- creating a culture of provider well-being and resilience.
“Our well-being, and the well-being of our teams, ultimately affects the health and well-being of our patients and communities.”
Marsha Rappley, MD, AAMC Board of Directors Chair
