Summary

The Cognitive Aging Summit III will be convened by the National Institute on Aging and is made possible by the McKnight Brain Research Foundation through a generous grant to the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health. This Summit will bring together experts in a variety of research fields to discuss the most cutting edge advances in our understanding of age-related brain and cognitive changes, with a particular focus on resilience and reserve. It will build upon research directions identified through previous Summits (2007, 2010). During the conference, the research advances and resources developed through the four McKnight Brain Institutes will be highlighted. The long term objective of the Summit is to improve cognitive health by continuing to raise awareness of the importance of research in cognitive aging and the factors that may influence resilience to impairment and the development of cognitive reserve.
