The theme of the 2017 CICEP Summer Meeting is “Telling Our Story: Engaging Stakeholders in Envisioning and Realizing the Impact of University Economic Engagement” and will emphasize strategic communications with policy makers and the public. Participants will learn about and share actionable ideas for how their university can better communicate the story of economic engagement, the power of the partnerships that shape such engagement, and the economic and societal impacts that result.
Session topics include:
CICEP 10th Anniversary Reception
2017 marks the 10th Anniversary of CICEP! In recognition of this achievement, the summer meeting will feature special spotlight sessions showcasing special messages from CICEP’s past leadership. In addition, a CICEP 10th Anniversary Celebration Reception will take place on June 27th at UC San Diego’s scenically located Audrey Geisel University House, graciously hosted by CICEP Chair and UC San Diego Chancellor Pradeep Khosla. An opening Welcome Reception will also take place on June 25th on the beautiful Olive Lawn of the Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa.
Innovation and Economic Prosperity (IEP) Universities Workshop
The 2017 Summer Meeting will also feature our Fifth Annual Innovation and Economic Prosperity Universities Workshop. Currently designated and aspiring IEP Universities alike will benefit from lively discussion and practical how-to information to help aspiring institutions achieve the designation, and help designated institutions to take the next steps in the process.
Economic Engagement Spotlights
The meeting will once again feature Economic Engagement Spotlights, based on the enthusiastically-received two-minute lighting presentations from previous meetings. These brief presentations from your colleagues will highlight innovative, high-impact approaches to university engagement in community and economic development.
