DeLoach Farms

DeLoach Farms is located on Kelly Creek, just before the Saint Clair/Shelby County line. The farm has been handed down from one family member to the next for five generations, originally having been settled around 1820 by John Martin. You can still see the chimney and outbuildings of the two story Martin Log House on the farm, where the outhouse was still in use until the 1970's! Some of the original beams can still be seen in a cabin on the property as well. The DeLoach family lives in the 'new house' which was built in 1918. Around 15 years ago, John transitioned from a beef cattle operation to row crops. The farm produces corn, wheat, soybeans, and cotton. Visitors can tour Auburn and Pioneer Seed Company test plots for corn and will have a chance to see our latest project to put additional acreage into crop production.

American Village

Step back into time and become part of the great American journey for independence and self-government. Meet patriots of the past and enjoy Colonial games on the green. You may even be conscripted into George Washington's Continental Army! Read the Village Gazette upon your arrival at the Visitors Center to find out each day's revolutionary events. This part of the tour will require lots of walking, so tour participants should wear comfortable walking shoes.
