Course Description

The webinars in this course focus on specific areas outlined in the CTBS Study Guide. The online format allows you to network with other participants as you prepare for the exam. Interactive Sessions are based on the 14th Edition of AATB Standards for Tissue Banking covering topics including: Informed Consent, Gifting & Authorization; Physical Assessment; Donor Screening & Testing; Recovery Practices; Processing, Packaging, and Process Controls; and Labeling, Storage, and Distribution. Quality System Requirements are touched on, throughout the course. Additional topics of interest will include: Hints about Preparing for the Exam, History of Tissue Banking, Anatomy & Physiologic Basis of Allograft Success; and Clinical Applications of Tissue Grafts.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course, the participant will have knowledge and a better understanding of:
  • Tissue banking practices as described in the 14th Edition of AATB Standards for Tissue Banking
  • AORN Recommended Practices for Surgical Attire, Maintaining a Sterile Field, and Surgical Hand Antisepsis
  • Skin, Cardiovascular and Musculoskeletal Tissue Banking & Clinical Applications
