Are you a PhD/doctoral student interested in organizational management and leadership?Has it been challenging to find a mentor or peers who share your interests?Are you feeling isolated in your research work?Do you want to build your professional network and connect with experts in the field?The Emerging Management Scholar Institute aims to strengthen professional networks and to build the capacity of doctoral students for whom human service management and leadership is an area of research and scholarship. The goal of this one-day institute is to support the research trajectory and professional development of leaders in the field of social work management through mentorship, collaboration, and technical support. The Institute is limited to students in Doctoral Programs in social work and other relevant disciplines and professions. The Emerging Management Scholar Institute will be held on June 14, 2017 in New York, NY from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.Participants will come prepared to share their thesis ideas and questions with others for feedback and review. The program includes plenary presentations, breakout sessions, and facilitated small group discussions. Three afternoon sessions will address preparing for the job market, the academic life and nontraditional opportunities. The fee for the Institute is $100 which includes a light breakfast. Participants will be guests at the evening reception organized by the Network that evening.
