What makes the Summit different?
The Summit is:
  • MULTIMODAL, featuring all of the creative arts therapies
  • INTERMODAL, emphasizing collaborative workshops by 2 or more specialists
  • MULTIDISCIPLINARY, including professionals and content from other fields

Who should attend?
While sessions will be geared toward experienced creative arts therapies professionals, a good number of sessions will be appropriate for graduate students and nonspecialists, including many of the experiential workshops.

Why New York City?
To start with, there is a large and vibrant community of creative arts therapies professionals in and around the New York metropolitan area. Also, can you think of any city on this continent more exciting, alluring, and vital to those who value the fine and performing arts? Finally, the food, shopping, and general tourist quotient are world-class. Anywhere else would require too much meeting planner spin.
When will notifications be sent to those who submitted proposals?
All notifications have been sent out. Please check your junk mail filter if you have not yet received an email from us. Thanks for being patient with our process.

When will the program be posted?
The full schedule for this year's Summit is listed on this site. If you're signed up for our mailing list, you'll receive regular program update emails.

When can I register for the Summit?
Earlybird Registration is open now. Register early! Many sessions sold out in advance last year.
Is there a designated Summit hotel?
No part of the Summit is currently scheduled to take part in a hotel, so you can stay wherever you'd like. We've supplied a list of reasonably priced options on the Lodging tab of this site. In particular, there are many online services like Travelocity, Priceline, Rentalo, and Orbitz to help you find discounted lodging.
Do you offer Student Discounts?
We have a work/study volunteer program for students. Just click here if you are interested in obtaining an application.

How should I get to New York?
For those of you on the east coast, there are a number of low-price luxury buses running regularly from points as far south as Washington, DC to as far north as Boston. Of course, there are are also trains and planes. Our best recommendations for travel are posted on the Travel, Tourism, Parking tab of this site.
Will we need to move among various venues to get to our sessions?
There is no commuting among facilities during the daytime—only after business hours, to get to any evening events you wish to attend. On the weekend, in particular, all half-day workshops will be held at the Executive Conference Center at 48th and Broadway and all full-day master classes will be held at the Pratt campus in Brooklyn.
Will there be any free time to enjoy the city?
Sessions end by 5:30 pm each day, so you are free to enjoy the wealth of New York City's night life as you prefer. If it's theater or dance you love, we're just a bagel's throw across the street from the popular TKTS discount ticket booth. Daily registrations are available, so if you need to take a break to visit galleries and museums (or your family in another borough), you can go do that, then come back for another day (or two) at the Summit.
