Florida has one of the most (if not the most) comprehensive set of ethical standards for mediators which is accompanied by an impressive enforcement scheme. Through a series of interactive activities, participants will explore the Florida Rules for Certified and Court-Appointed Mediators in light of the January 2017 revisions. Participants will also receive updates on ethical developments from around the nation... and earn all of their ethics CMEs in one place.

Appellate Mediator Certification Training (G - CME)

Friday & Saturday, August 11-12, 2017

5 Part Appellate Training  (General CME)

This 7 hour appellate mediator certification training is the first step in becoming a Florida Supreme Court certified appellate mediator. One must be a certified family, dependency or circuit mediator to qualify for appellate mediator certification. There are no role play or mentorship requirements. You must attend all 5 workshop sessions (A,B,C, D, E) to complete the training. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each session.
Class size is limited to 40 attendees on first come, first served basis.

Appellate mediation certification training is typically offered in the private market for a $275 - $300 registration fee.  This year, the DRC is offering the 7 hour required appellate mediation training as part of our conference for the early bird registration fee of $195.  In addition to the appellate mediation training, a registrant will also be eligible to attend 3 conference plenary sessions and our Thursday evening reception as well as being provided breakfast and lunch on Friday and Saturday.  Mediators who are certified family, circuit or dependency mediators are eligible to become certified appellate mediators.  This is a terrific opportunity and it is limited to the first 40 people that confirm their participation!!

3 Part Arbitration Training  (No CME)
This 4-hour training program combines lecture and discussion to promote comprehensive understanding and skills development for the arbitrator appointed to arbitrate a non binding county or circuit court actions. This training meets the requirements of rule 11.020, Training, Florida Rules for Court-Appointed Arbitrators. You must attend all 3 workshop sessions A,B,C  to complete the training. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each session.
