    Recent Developments in the U.S. Criminal Justice System

    We invite you to join the Office of Public Interest & Community Service (OPICS) and the Criminal Law Association for a lunchtime panel discussion with Lauren-Brooke Eisen (L'02, Senior Counsel, Brennan Center for Justice) on recent developments in the criminal justice system of the United States. Ms. Eisen has spent her entire career devoted to criminal justice reform and will answer questions about her work at the Brennan Center. She will also be discussing her new book Inside Private Prisons: An American Dilemma in the Age of Mass Incarceration (for more information, see below). Lunch will be provided.

    These words, spoken by Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes in laying the cornerstone for the Supreme Court Building on October 13, 1932, express the importance of the Supreme Court in the American system. Join fellow Georgetown Law alumni for a tour of the historic halls of the Supreme Court Building.

    Please note, we have limited spots available for each tour. Guests who check-in at the Supreme Court will receive a full refund. Guests who do not attend the tour without 24 hours notice will forfeit their registration fee for this event.

    Visit one of D.C.'s newest and most popular museums, the National Museum of African American History & Culture!     Women's Law and Public Policy Fellowship Program Mimosa Brunch
    Since 1983, the Women's Law and Public Policy Fellowship Program (WLPPFP) has enabled a diverse group of public interest lawyers from across the United States to gain invaluable experience advancing women's rights. Executive Director Jill Morrison invites WLPPFP fellows, friends, and alumnae of the program to celebrate its work and catch up on its activities. The brunch will feature remarks from Lynn Paltrow, Founder and Executive Director of National Advocates for Pregnant Women. All are invited to also attend the Leadership Giving Wall Dedication from 11:15 a.m. till 12:00 noon.
