Optional Pre-Summit Workshop Program

Optional Pre-Summit Workshop Program

Sunday August 27th from 12:00pm-5:30pm

Pre-Summit Workshop Program Topics

We have the following exciting topics that will be covered in our Pre-Summit Workshop Program on Sunday Afternoon:

Airline Economics:  Presented by Ben Baldanza, Board Member WOW, former CEO of Spirit Airlines and George Mason University Professor.  Plan for some fun fireworks from Mr. Baldanza, who's not known for being a shrinking violet in regard to airline strategies. This session will be followed by a "Chat with Mike Boyd" regarding WOW and various airline models. Plan on lots of accepted norms to be vandalized in searching for the future of the airline business.

Ready for Takeoff?? The Future of UAS: UAS are an important emerging technology and an important new communications channel. But there are a lot of clouds on this horizon, such as assuring security and safety. In the last month, for example, airports in China have been shut down due to un-tracked use of drones. The UAS industry is working on a framework of solutions. At this Workshop, you'll hear from regulatory, industry development, and operational integration experts in this field.

Higher Fuel Prices in 2020?: Know what to expect from the expert.  Ben Brockwell, Director at OPIS has made predictions at 4 previous Boyd Summits.  Those predictions were all 100% accurate on the timing and on the amount of increase/decrease.  Fuel is still a critical component in operating costs, so you won't want to miss this session!

Air Access Realities & Opportunities 401: Bring your Board Members, too! This will go well beyond the basics of air service and into dynamics such as global access and road hubbing. This goes way beyond current air service development - and addresses the future.

More details including the exact times to come soon.

The Optional Workshop Program fees are:

$250 if registered by July 10/ $350 after July 10.
