2017 National Health Through Fitness Day

March 21-22, 2017

Washington, D.C.

Capitol Hill Campaign to

"Get America Moving to Improve Health"

Come to our Nation’s Capital for SFIA’s 16th Annual National Health through Fitness Day. Industry leaders, Celebrity athletes, PHIT America, The American College of Sports Medicine, PHIT Coalition partners, PE Teachers and other physical activity advocates will meet with Congress on March 21-22, 2017 to push for passage of the PHIT Act and request funding for P.E.

The Personal Health Investment Today Act is key legislation to allow consumers to use pre-tax dollars to pay for activity expenses and lower the cost of active lifestyles. P.E. funding has moved to the States but Federal Government needs to provide States' financial resources for quality P.E.

National Health Through Fitness Day Overview:

SFIA National Health Through Fitness Day (NHTF Day) is the culmination of a year round effort by the SFIA and its many sponsors and volunteers to pass major U.S. legislation to “Get America Moving”. For the past 16 years, the SFIA has brought people together in Washington, D.C. to accomplish our goals. Approximately 150 leaders from the sports, fitness, and PE industries meet in early March to lobby Congress to pass key legislation which will help our country overcome a major epidemic, obesity and sedentary lifestyles. Other attendees include company representatives from the food and beverage industry.
