2017 NH State Legislature and the Architectural Profession
NH State Library, Concord, NH

Thursday, March 23, 2017
5:30-8:00 pm
$35 Professionals and guests | $20 Emerging Professionals

It is a busy season in our State Legislature and there are several bills pending that could affect the architectural profession.  This is our opportunity to speak with some of the lawmakers in Concord, hear their point of view directly, and express our own.  Our current President, Sheldon Pennoyer, will moderate a panel discussion between a diverse group of Senators and Representatives.  The panel will be followed by the opportunity for questions and answers.

Topics to be discussed will be:

  • Current options for a path to licensure in the State of New Hampshire and how a pending bill seeks to align the paths with NCARB standards.
  • Potential adoption of the IBC 2015 codes and when they will go into effect if passed.
  • A  current proposal to make changes to the state procurement process and how the changes could potentially affect professional design services.
  • A call to action!  How to access information about pending bills in the NH State Legislature and how to identify and contact local representatives.

The meeting will be held at the New Hampshire State Library, a beautiful historic building right next to the Capitol.   Head Librarian, Michael York, will lead brief tours of the buildings for those who are interested in learning more about its history and current use.

Hope to see you there!
