2017 Opportunity Exchange

Overview

Questions & Answers

Question: How do I know if I should participate in the Opportunity Exchange?
Answer:

Tier I’s:
Toyota Tier I suppliers are strongly encouraged to participate as exhibitors.  Tier I suppliers must participate in OE in order to be eligible for Supplier Diversity awards and/or certificates presented at Toyota’s Annual Supplier Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony.

Additionally, there is a large gamut of minority business suppliers that will be in attendance that supply multiple products and services that your company may purchase, ranging from vehicle parts and materials to staffing and marketing services.

MBEs (Minority Business Enterprises)
Toyota’s one-of-a-kind Opportunity Exchange trade show provides you with a unique sales opportunity. We ask our direct or Tier I Suppliers to participate as exhibitors in order to build business relationships with minority-owned companies...companies like yours. The majority of exhibiting companies directly supply Toyota with vehicle parts and materials, however there are companies that provide indirect product and services, too, such as health care, cafeteria services, maintenance, etc…Suppliers in attendance represent a wide range of purchasing needs.

Non-Minority Companies
Our annual Opportunity Exchange (OE) is one of several ways we help Tier I suppliers meet Toyota’s Tier II sourcing expectations. TEMA hosts Opportunity Exchange (OE), a forum that helps facilitate the initiation of relationships between our Tier I suppliers and NMSDC certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs).

Question: Can I have an invitation to participate in the Opportunity Exchange?
Answer:

We invite a group of Toyota Tier I suppliers to participate in OE as exhibitors

We invite MBEs that are certified by the National Minority Development Council (NMSDC) and WBEs that are certified by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) to participate in the seminars, breakfast, and visit the trade show to meet Toyota Tier I suppliers to potentially do business with.

We do not allow any companies to exhibit that do not currently hold a contract directly with Toyota.

Question: I am having difficulty registering for the Opportunity Exchange. Can you take my registration over the phone?
Answer:

No, registrations must be completed online. If you are experiencing difficulties, please take a screen shot of the error message you received and e-mail it to opportunityexchange@tema.toyota.com. This will allow us to more efficiently trouble shoot your problem.

Question: I would like to exhibit at the Opportunity Exchange trade show. How can I get a booth?
Answer:

We do not allow any companies to exhibit that do not currently hold a contract as a Tier I supplier to Toyota. The format of OE is designed to have a clear, visual understanding of where buyers versus sellers are located. We believe this creates a greater chance for contact to be made between respective groups.

It is possible that your company is a current Toyota supplier, but was not identified as an exhibitor.  If you are interested in exhibiting at this year’s event, please email opportunityexchange@tema.toyota.com .

Please include the following information in the body of your email:

1)       Supplier Code
2)       Which Toyota facility currently supplying parts or services to
