Our most popular workshop, this three-day workshop is designed specifically for new PA faculty. You'll develop important didactic skills through interactive sessions on topics including syllabus preparation, teaching and assessment strategies, objective and test item writing, and the use of technology in teaching. You'll explore these issues through a variety of active learning techniques that can be easily adapted to the classroom or other setting.
This workshop is relevant for faculty in all program models (2 year, 3+2, 3+3), and is suitable for both well-established and developing programs. Note: This workshop was previously called "Basic Faculty Skills."
"The information presented was extremely useful in ways that I was not expecting. I will use the resources repetitively over my career. The small group activities were great for networking and hearing how other faculty are managing challenges. The different presentation formats kept the workshop from being stagnant."
— Faculty Skills 101 workshop attendee
Approved for 15 hours of AAPA Category 1 CME
Breakfast and lunch are included for all three days.
You'll also be provided with a full workbook containing all presentations and supplemental information and resources.
