The program of Excellence in STEM (PE-STEM) project is currently accepting applications for the STEM SUMMER ACADEMY, which runs from June 5 - June 23,2017, at Florida A&M University.  This exciting summer program is filled with courses in STEM-related areas, opportunities for research alongside FAMU undergraduate and graduate students under the guidance of STEM faculty, research lab tours, and a concluding technical research poster presentation. 

High-school students (9th - 12th grade), as well as rising college Freshmen STEM majors will engage in classroom instruction on research, critical-thinking, and problem-solving.  Students will also conduct and present research in STEM areas in the form of poster presentations at the conclusion.  A field trip to a research center or national lab will occur at the conclusion of the program.

The cost of the program is $150, which covers meals during the camp and all other costs, including field trip expenses and t-shirts.  Upon successful completion of the program, new participants are eligible to receive an iPad tablet (available to first-time participants only).

The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.  The final has been change to Friday, April 21, 2017, will consist of a field trip to a regional or national research lab, corporation or facility.

Minimum non-refundable registration payment is $25 (Can only be paid using a VISA or MasterCard).

The deadline to apply has been extended to April 21, 2017.  Full payment must be made at time of registration.

This is not a residential program (Students must be dropped off and picked up each day).
