2017 Scofield Advanced Oncology
This premiere conference will feature a diverse group of speakers including nationally renowned experts from University of Iowa Health Care, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Louisville, Kentucky. On the first day, we will welcome Jeff Doucette, DNP, RN, a dynamic speaker who will discuss communication to ensure quality patient care. Tuesday will also include insightful updates on treatment options for brain tumors, the clinical trial experience from the patient’s perspective, strategies for assisting patients and families in the management of grief, and important genetic services available for cancer patients. Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist Ann Collins-Hattery will also share her expertise on the topic of managing neuroendocrine tumors.
Wednesday presentations will include interesting discussions on our power to improve cancer care for older people, the innovative lymphoma treatment CAR-T cell therapy, and an update in oncology pharmaceutical care. Day 2 will also include updates on how to meet the psychological needs of oncology patients, and improving symptom management for cancer patients. In the closing session, Mack Dryden, a 2-time cancer survivor and powerful motivational speaker will provide inspiration to the audience with his discussion on how a positive attitude and a desire to achieve can overcome personal challenges and setbacks.
