2018 Business Awards Applications

APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FRI, FEB 2, 2018

The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce hosts its Business Awards annually to recognize local businesses in six categories: start-up business, small business, minority or woman-owned business, green business, small nonprofit and large nonprofit. These awards recognize the organizations who are writing Denver’s next chapter in business. Award applicants are narrowed down to three finalists in each category. The 18 finalists are honored at our luncheon on Friday, April 27, and winners will be announced live!

HOW IT WORKS

NOMINATIONS

Due to the nature of the questions on the application, it is necessary for the company to fill out and submit the application. If you would like to nominate a company, we kindly ask you to send the application to the company who you think deserves the award.

APPLICANTS

Applicants may only apply for one award category. Previous finalists will not be chosen for same category 2 years in a row. Applicants do not have to be a member of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce but if selected as a finalist membership is required.

Applications will be evaluated and scored based on the three areas below. Any applications that do not meet the award category criteria will be disqualified.

  1. Ownership: Meets award criteria (listed below under each award category), which varies by longevity of organization, ownership status and number of employees.
  2. Financial: Shows track record of financial viability.
  3. Denver spirit: Demonstrates a love of doing business in and being part of the Denver metro area community.

JUDGES

A volunteer judges’ panel, which consists of previous award winners and sponsoring businesses, will review and narrow down each category to three finalists, or 18 finalists total.

FINALISTS

If your company is selected as a finalist, the main point of contact on the application will be contacted to schedule: 1) a site-visit for the judges to see your place of work and get to know you and your company better; 2) a time slot to film a vignette about your company (this will be shown at the luncheon and is yours to keep for future promotion or education about your organization).

Finalist site-visits will take place during last two weeks in February at the finalist company location. Filming will take place Monday, March 12 through Friday, March 16 at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce.

*Site-visit and filming are mandatory. Exact dates and scheduling is finalized once finalists are announced. We kindly ask that upon applying for an award, your schedule allows availability during the time frames listed.*

WINNERS

Winners will be announced live at the Business Awards luncheon on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Infinity Park Event Center in the International Ballroom (4400 E. Kentucky Ave. in Glendale).
