      This presentation features the results of a two-year research project that utilized sophisticated energy modeling techniques and actual case history metrics to estimate the significant financial and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) costs associated with air- and dirt-related inefficiency in pumps, chillers, boilers, terminal units, and more.       Energy Leadership Award: Encouraging Energy Conversations and Buy-In

      This presentation will discuss the Energy Leadership Award (ELA) program offered at Oklahoma State University to student groups, organizations, Greek life and staff departments with ten or more members. Initially, this program was developed to initiate conversations with student groups about the OSU Energy Management Program. Over time the ELA program has grown so that student groups who are awarded the OSU ELA seal of recognition can use it on their organizational promotional materials. The ELA awards program gives energy managers the opportunity to recognize specific actions and encourage active partnership of these groups to reduce OSU’s energy expenditures.

      Using Energy Savings to Acquire Facility Upgrades and Showcase Renewable Energy

      The session will use a recently completed project at Kansas State University's Polytechnic campus as a case study how to explore how you can leverage utility savings to make major facility upgrades and incorporate renewable energy into your facility plans. KSU Poly is using renewable energy (i.e. Solar and Wind) as a living laboratory to train their students, and the energy output is being tracked and shared in a manner to demonstrate the practical power production. Attendees will learn how energy saving projects can make a significant improvements across campus and help offset the upfront cost of renewable projects.

This presentation will discuss facades and wall systems for buildings built from the late 1800s through the 1960s. We will discuss a variety of façade systems and their handling of moisture intrusion.       What is hiding in your Air Handling Unit? The Path to Improved IAQ

      Higher Education Facilities are increasingly facing the challenges of poor ventilation and diminished air quality. Causes range from lowest dollar filters that compromise air quality, smaller mechanical rooms that leave inadequate access to service AHU coils properly and the push for greater energy efficiency that create tighter facilities. This presentation will discuss the University of Arkansas's experiences with (UVGI) Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation in conjunction with a coil maintenance program as a means to meet these challenges. Our experience has been restored air handling unit capacity, increased facility ventilation and improved indoor air quality.

      The Future of Lighting – Smart, Connected Lighting for Modern Offices

      Age old office lighting is poised to become a converged technology platform. The boring office luminaire of yesterday will soon transform itself into an advanced mega platform of intelligence and usefulness. Product developers were quick to realize the benefit of turning office lighting into the next Internet of Things (IoT). Standards are in the works to run LED luminaires via standard Ethernet CAT cabling using Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). The luminaries will feature a microprocessor-based platform that can accommodate any number of modules to support a variety of integrated technologies, such as Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) access point, Occupancy and Daylight Sensors, Public or Emergency Address and Emergency Lightning and Directional Signaling.
