2018 Chicago Regional Meeting


Scheduled for Tuesday, December 11, 2018, the NFPA Chicago Regional Meeting will convene at Oak Brook Hills- Hilton just outside of Chicago, IL.

Senior Economist Mike Reid will present on the recently released “NFPA Fluid Power Demand Estimates”.  Mike and his team at Oxford Economics worked closely with NFPA to develop a customer industry demand model for fluid power products geographically by US state. Additionally, Mike will analyze and report on the current U.S. economy and how it directly affects the state of Illinois.

Mike is a Senior Economist working within Oxford Economics' US Consultancy team based in New York City. He is responsible for producing customized research, analysis, and economic modeling services for a range of organizations. Since joining Oxford Economics in 2015, Mike has worked on projects for clients such as AARP, GE, Industrial Truck Association, National Retail Federation, and Pennsylvania’s State System for Higher Education. 

Prior to joining Oxford Economics, Mike worked as an economist for the Bureau of Economic Analysis. While at BEA, he was responsible for the production of estimates used to calculate State and Local Area Personal Income and GDP. Before joining BEA, he worked at the Center for Labor Market Studies. Michael holds a Master’s degree in Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, both from Northeastern University in Boston.
