Summary

We work in a landscape of rapidly evolving data and technology. Patient-focused medical-product development means collecting, warehousing, analyzing, and sharing patient-centered outcomes data in a way that is meaningful and useful – for everyone.

At this conference you will learn current, cutting-edge approaches to build systems for the future.

Featuring key thought leaders, industry experts, and policy makers, this is a must-attend event for all research staff from NHC’s diverse membership – and beyond.

FDA Commissioner, Scott Gottlieb, MD, will deliver the keynote address, with additional presentations from a variety of stakeholders:

  • Dr. Theresa Mullin, from FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), will tell us what’s in store for the FDA patient-experience data repository.
  • Joni Rutter, NIH All of Us Research Program Scientific Director, will provide an update on how their work is transforming the health care landscape.
  • Kathy Hudson, President and CEO of the People-Centered Research Foundation, will provide an overview on best practices in patient engagement data warehousing and sharing.
  • Camille Nebeker, Human-research ethicist from the University of California San Diego, will discuss ethical issues when collecting and using patient-provided data.
  • A panel about unique sources and unique approaches to collecting data that includes presentations from John Wilbanks of Sage Bionetworks and Holly Schachner of Sanofi.

Remarks from machine learning experts Pietro Michelucci of the Human Computation Institute and UCB’s Chief Medical Officer Iris Loew- Friedrich on using artificial intelligence (AI) to get the most out of data.
