Dr. Burke trained as a Department resident from 1997-2001, serving as Chief Resident from 1999-2000. He completed a Vascular-Interventional Radiology fellowship in the Department in 2002. Apart from spending 2005-2006 in private practice in his home state of Arkansas, Dr. Burke has worked as an Associate Professor of Radiology in the Department since completing his fellowship and was promoted to Professor of Radiology in 2016. In 2003, 2006 and 2007, Dr. Burke was named “America’s Top Radiologist” by Consumers Research Council of America. He received the Department’s Charles A. Bream Teaching Award (selected by residents) in 2004. He currently serves as the Department’s Vascular-Interventional Radiology Division Chief, as well as an applicant interviewer for the UNC School of Medicine. Dr. Burke is also the Interventional Radiology lead for the UNC Center for Heart and Vascular Care.

Dr. Marston is currently the George Johnson Jr Distinguished Professor of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
Dr Marston is a graduate of Harvard University and received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed a general surgical residency and fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC. His research interests include the diagnosis and management of chronic venous insufficiency, the treatment of critical limb ischemia, and advanced therapies for healing chronic wounds. He has been a clinical investigator on over 50 clinical trials in the areas listed above, both on the local and national level and has experience in the design and conduct of clinical trials at all levels of the approval process. He currently serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Vascular Surgery and on the Executive Council of the American Venous Forum.

While his roots and educational background span the Tristate, Dr. Muck has gained national and international attention for his research and expertise in vascular surgery. A Northern Kentucky native and graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Muck chose to specialize in vascular surgery because of the immediate impact it can have on improving a patient’s quality of life.
Dr. Muck has shared his research and knowledge with peers at national and international meetings of many medical organizations. He also works with his colleagues at the TriHealth Heart Institute to host training courses to teach the newest vascular techniques to physicians from around the world.
Dr. Muck specializes in minimally invasive treatment of all types of problems of the circulatory system, including:
