DARE TO BE CIVIL

Effective action against poverty sometimes requires standing up to injustice and inequity, embracing new and innovative approaches, and committing time and effort. In short, those who address poverty must be daring. At the same time, we all share a sense that political and social discourse--including the conversation about poverty--has taken on a divisive and often angry tone. In an environment of so much injustice and discord, the temptation to lash out is strong, meaning that it is more important than ever to Dare to Be Civil.
