2018 MQ Quilt Show and Conference

What's New for 2018

  • Learning Stage: A Learning Stage will be located on the show floor giving show attendees a chance to sit down and learn from our vendors. This is free for all attendees.
  • Bus Tours: We are increasing our efforts to arrange bus tours from around the region, from churches and community centers, and hope to link with Barn Quilt tours. Tours that arrive on Saturday will pay lower admission prices.
  • Sneak Preview: We are making this a more festive event by celebrating all those who entered quilts as well as our award winners. There will be a short presentation at 7 p.m. on the Learning Stage entitled "Unveiling the Mystery of the Judging Room." Hours will be 6 – 9 p.m.
  • Show Hours: We have extended the show hours on Thursday and Friday to 6 p.m. as we heard on our evaluations that many people that took classes didn't have time to shop.
  • Shopper's Choice: We tested this concept last year and it was a hit so we are bringing it back! Our shoppers will be able to vote for their favorite vendor in two categories: Most Inspirational Booth and Best Customer Service. We will recognize two vendors each day and add their photos to our Facebook page and to our August member newsletter.
  • Meet the Teachers: This event will be combined with our social before the Friday evening banquet. Your chance to meet our great slate of teachers, purchase a book, and have some wine!
  • New Quilt Category: Due to high numbers in last year's show, we have added a new Judged category: Wholecloth.
  • Quilt Bombing: A fiber form of graffiti or street art, to commemorate the 40th "Ruby" Anniversary. Watch for special quilts in public places – a fun addition!
  • Sewing for Others: Sit down and do some sewing! You’ll be able to make quilts that we will donate to a variety of causes.
