2018 Quilt Entry Registration

Welcome to Minnesota Quilter's 2018 Quilt Entry and Competition!

This is your 'one stop shop' for entries for Judged, Non-Judged, Youth and 2017 Mystery Quilt.

You will register once for any category,and then choose the quilt categories you will enter.

You can register a quilt and then come back later and add another quilt, or click 'save' while registering if you're interrupted.

Your options are:

Judged Competition, 1 or 2 quilts.

Non Judged Entry, 1 or 2 quilts.

Youth Exhibit, up to 3 quilts.

Mystery Quilt.  If you entered the 2017 Mystery Quilt you can enter that quilt here under the non-judged category.

If you are submitting a quilt for the MQ 2018 Ruby Challenge, please follow the instructions that came with the fabric packet.

We suggest that you register your quilt from your computer and not a tablet or phone.

Judged Competition:   (Fee for MQ Member is $20 and non-member is $35 per quilt)

2018 Judged Competition Rules

You can enter one or two quilts. This is the information you will need to enter:

  • Entrant first and last name
  • Mailing Address
  • two phone numbers
  • email address
  • Choose quilt category.  2018 Judged Quilt Category Definitions
  • Title of work.
  • Year the piece was finished (must be finished after January 1, 2016)
  • Width and length of quilt.
  • Name of person who constructed the quilt.
  • Name of  person who quilted the quilt.
  • Primary quilting technique (Hand, Stationary machine, Movable Machine).
  • Is it your original design, or did you get permission to use pattern?
  • Upload a photo of the quilt saved as a jpg. If you don't have a photo available please upload any photo and modify your registration later through the confirmation email or email the photo to quiltentryhelp@mnquilt.org or mail the photo to the MQ Office.
  • State the value of your quilt for show insurance purposes.  Entries valued at $500 or more must be accompanied by a copy of the quilt appraisal performed by a certified appraiser.  You will be able to upload your appraisal during registration.  Entrants are responsible for insuring their quilt during shipping.
  • Choose a delivery and pick up option.

Non-judged Entry:  (Fee for MQ Member is Free and non-member is $15)

You can enter one or two quilts. This is the information you will need to enter:

  • Entrant first and last name.
  • Mailing address.
  • Two phone numbers.
  • Email address.
  • Title of work.
  • Year the piece was completed.  Quilts must be completed after January 1, 2016.
  • Choose Quilt or Wall hanging.
  • Width and length of quilt.
  • Name of person who constructed the quilt.
  • Name of person who quilted the quilt.
  • Is it your original design?  If not, list the book, magazine, or pattern.
  • Upload a picture of the quilt that is saved as a jpg. If you don't have a photo available please upload any photo and modify your registration later through the confirmation email or email the photo to quiltentryhelp@mnquilt.org, or mail the photo to the MQ office.
  •  State the value of your quilt for show insurance purposes.  Entries valued at $500 or more must be accompanied by an appraisal performed by a professional appraiser.  You will be able to upload your appraisal during registration. Youth Entry: (There is no fee for quilters 18 or younger)

A parent or guardian may enter up to 3 quilts.  This can be for multiples by one child, or one quilt by each of 3 children.  This is the information you will need to enter:

  • Youth's first and last name.
  • Youth's age.
  • Parent or guardian first and last name.
  • Parent or guardian mailing address.
  • Parent or guardian phone number.
  • Parent or guardian email address.
  • Indicate if all entry information should be mailed to parent/guardian or to youth.
  • Title of work.
  • Description of quilt.
  • Upload a photo. If you don't have a photo available please upload any photo and modify your registration later through the confirmation email, or email the photo to quiltentryhelp@mnquilt.org, or mail the photo to the MQ Office.
  • Width and length of quilt.
  • Choose a drop off and pick up option.
