Voices of Philanthropy: Amy Hyfield, Executive Director, The O.P. and W.E. Edwards Foundation 

Their offices are located at the base of the Beartooth Mountains in Red Lodge, Montana, while their board is scattered throughout the United States and internationally. Spanning across three generations and various interests, the board consists of six family members of the original benefactors. With a focus on children in need, primarily during early childhood and out-of-school time, the O.P. and W. E. Edwards Foundation is a strong philanthropic presence, particularly in rural Montana and Indian Country.

Oro y Plata Foundation (OyP) is a Montana based family foundation. It prefers not to accept unsolicited grant requests and site visits are an important piece to its success. OyP’s mission is to support effective Montana based nonprofits dedicated to helping people enlarge their competencies and capacities. Since 2004 one third of our annual giving has gone to Big Brothers Big Sisters across the state, CASA, and a variety of other such organizations.

The Steele-Reese Foundation is a charitable trust committed to supporting rural communities and the nonprofit organizations that serve them in Idaho, Montana, and Appalachian Kentucky. Since its inception, the Foundation has maintained a focus on the unique challenges of rural living and on helping people build healthy, successful, and sustainable communities.
