If you are an active tweeter, and plan to tweet during the conference, we have some tips for creating effective tweets and driving social media interaction:

  • Use the conference hashtag #AAMCIQ. Make sure that every conference tweet you share contains the hashtag. You can use programs like Tweetchat to share your tweets and it will automatically include the hashtag so you don’t have to retype it each time.
  • When tweeting quotes from speakers, give proper attribution and try to include their Twitter username (if known). This helps your followers know who is making the statements (i.e. @AtulGroverMD).Don’t forget to share photos.
  • Give your followers a sense of the onsite environment and crowd.

If you don’t have a Twitter account, but want to contribute to the #AAMCIQ conversation, you can easily set up an account before you go and read these helpful tips for tweeting. If you have additional questions, feel free to email socialmedia@aamc.org.
