Question: When is the conference being held?
Answer:

The BC Land Summit conference will be held Wed. May 8th - Fri. May 10th, 2019. There are pre-conference activities expected to start during the day on May 8th, and the final regular conference sessions are expected to end late in the afternoon on May 10th. There may also be other optional activities or events before, during and after the main conference days.

Question: What transportation or travel options are available for the conference?
Answer:

Summit attendees are encouraged to make their own arrangements for transportation to and from the conference location (The Westin Bayshore) in downtown Vancouver, BC. Vancouver is easily accessible by air and land transportation. Additionally, downtown Vancouver is well serviced by public transit. For more information about travel to and within Vancouver, click on the Travel & Accommodations tab in the main menu on the left side of this webpage for helpful information.

Question: What accommodation arrangements are there for the Summit in Vancouver?
Answer:

Organizers are pleased to have arranged a limited number of rooms available for Summit attendees at the Westin Bayshore hotel in Vancouver - the host hotel - located at 1601 Bayshore Dr., Vancouver, BC, V6G 2V4.  Additionally, alternate accommodations are also available at the nearby Coast Coal Harbour hotel - located at 1180 West Hastings St., Vancouver, BC V6E 4R5.

Accommodations are separate & independent from your Summit registration and must be booked separately. Be sure to book early to ensure availability and the best rates!  For more information about accommodations, including rates and direct links to make your hotel reservation online now, click on the Travel & Accommodations tab in the main menu on the left side of this webpage.

Question: Are there any deadlines for registration?
Answer: Yes! Extra early discounts apply for applicable Summit registrations received up to & including Fri. Feb 1st, 2019. Early registration discounts apply for applicable Summit registrations received up to & including Fri. Mar. 15th, 2019. Regular registration rates apply after that date. The final day for online registration in advance is Fri. May 3rd, 2019 at 12:00 Noon (Pacific). Be sure to register early and save! Please note: Last minute onsite registration at the Summit in Vancouver may be available, but at additional cost & subject to space availability.
Question: I am a confirmed speaker, presenter or workshop leader at the Summit entitled to a special registration rate, how do I register?
Answer:

If you are an eligible, confirmed speaker, presenter, or workshop leader you can register online here, but will need your applicable special presenter discount code. You would register normally and then enter and apply it at the end of the online registration process. Question: What activities are included in full Summit registration?
Answer:

Full Summit registration includes all general sessions & keynote presentations, regular conference breakout sessions, deep-dive sessions, daytime meals & breaks for one individual attendee.

Full Summit registration also includes the Wednesday evening Summit Welcome Reception & Networking and the Thursday evening Summit Gala Evening Reception & Dinner event, however pre-registration for these optional events is required during registration if you plan to attend. Extra companion tickets for these two events are available as part of registration (extra costs will apply as indicated). Full conference registration is for one attendee only and may not be shared between individuals.

Many optional activities, including pre-conference workshops & events, mobile workshops or tours, and other optional activities, are now available as of the release of the preliminary program in February 2019. Early registered attendees can return and add other optional activities by modifying their existing registration using their email address and confirmation number.

Question: Are there one-day Summit registration options available, and if so what is included?
Answer:

Yes, one-day Summit registrations are available for Thurs. May 9th and Fri. May 10th. All one-day registrations include all general sessions & keynote presentations, regular conference breakout sessions, deep-dive sessions, daytime meals & breaks on the selected day only. 

Extra tickets for he Wednesday evening Summit Welcome Reception & Networking and the Thursday evening Summit Gala Evening Reception & Dinner event are available for purchase as part of registration (extra costs will apply as indicated).

Conference registration is for one attendee only and may not be shared between individuals. Registration for single individual sessions is not available.

Question: What are the eligibility requirements for special discounted registration types or categories?
Answer:

Member registration types are open to all current members in good standing of the five BC Land Summit Society member organizations (Appraisal Institute of Canada BC, BC Institute of Agrologists, BC Society of Landscape Architects, Planning Institute of BC, Real Estate Institute of BC). Proof of eligibility may be required.

Member registration types are also open to all current members in good standing of the six 2019 BC Land Summit allied partner organizations (Architectural Institute BC, Association of BC Land Surveyors, BC Notaries Association, Engineers & Geoscientists BC, Land Title & Survey Authority of BC, Social Purpose Real Estate Collaborative). Proof of eligibility may be required.

Student / Retired registration types are only open to: either currently enrolled full-time post-secondary or secondary students, OR individuals who are permanently and fully retired from active employment in their respective fields. Proof of eligibility may be required.

All other individuals should register to attend using applicable non-member registration types.

Registrations cannot be shared between individuals for the BC Land Summit conference.

Question: What is the cancellation and refund policy for the conference?
Answer: Cancellations received in writing by Fri. April 5th, 2019 can receive a partial refund of conference registration fees paid (less an administrative cancellation charge - ranging from $50 - $150 depending on registration type and original fees paid).

All registrations made after Fri. April 5th, 2019 are final non-refundable. Cancellations after Fri. April 5th, 2019 can be accepted, but no refund of any fees paid will be given (although registration transfers or substitutions of Summit registration to other individuals may be possible upon request).

Cancellations for optional items such as pre-conference workshops, mobile workshops & tours etc. received by Fri. April 5th, 2019 can receive a 50% refund of fees paid for those items. They are non-refundable for any cancellations received after that date.
Question: If I wish to pay by cheque (instead of by credit card) is this possible and how do I make payment?
Answer: Yes. If you select to make payment by cheque when completing registration online, cheque or money order payments should be made payable to "BC Land Summit Society", in Canadian funds only and should be mailed to:

BC Land Summit Society, 1750-355 Burrard Street, Vancouver, BC, V6C 2G8

Cheque payments must be received no later than Fri. May 3rd, 2019 for registration to be complete. Unpaid registrations will be cancelled after this date, and will still be subject to the cancellation and refund policies - applicable registration fees and/or cancellation fees will remain due and payable.

The cheque payment option for registration is only available up until Fri. April 26th, 2019 - payment for registrations after that date must be made online by credit card.
