2019 Business Awards Applications

OVERVIEW

The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce hosts its Business Awards annually to recognize local businesses in six categories: start-up business, small business, minority or woman-owned business, green business, small nonprofit and large nonprofit. These awards recognize the organizations who are writing Denver’s next chapter in business. Award applicants are narrowed down to three finalists in each category. The 18 finalists are honored at our luncheon on Wednesday, May 1st, and winners will be announced live!

APPLICATION DEADLINE: FRI, JAN 25, 2019

HOW IT WORKS

NOMINATIONS

Due to the nature of the questions on the application, it is necessary for the company to fill out and submit the application. If you would like to nominate a company, we kindly ask you to send the application to the company who you think deserves the award.

APPLICANTS

Applicants may only apply for one award category. Previous finalists may apply for the same category two years in a row. Previous winners must wait one year before they can apply again in the same category, but winners from last year may apply for a different category.

Applicants do not need to be a member of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce but if selected as a finalist membership is required.

Applications will be evaluated and scored based on the three areas below. Any applications that do not meet the award category criteria will be disqualified.

  1. Ownership: Meets award criteria (listed below under each award category), which varies by longevity of organization, ownership status and number of employees.
  2. Financial: Shows track record of financial viability.
  3. Denver spirit: Demonstrates a love of doing business in and being part of the Denver metro area community.

JUDGES

A volunteer judges panel, which consists of previous award winners and sponsoring businesses, will review and narrow down each category to three finalists, or 18 finalists total.

FINALISTS

If your company is selected as a finalist, the main point of contact on the application will be contacted to schedule:

  1. A Phone Interview
  2. A site-visit for the judges to see your place of work and get to know you and your company better;
  3. A time slot to film a vignette about your company (this will be shown at the luncheon and is yours to keep for future promotion or education about your organization).

Finalist site-visits will take place during the weeks of February 11th and 18th at the finalist company location. Filming will take place on Monday, March 4 and Wednesday, March 6 at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce.

*Site-visit and filming are mandatory. Exact dates and scheduling is finalized once finalists are announced. We kindly ask that upon applying for an award, your schedule allows availability during the time frames listed.*

WINNERS

Winners will be announced live at the Business Awards luncheon on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Infinity Park Event Center in the International Ballroom (4400 E. Kentucky Ave. in Glendale). For more information click here.
