What is the cost for an attendee?
Early Bird registration is available at a cost of $225 until Monday, July 8, 2019. Standard registration will be available for $250 until online registration closes for attendees on Friday, September 6, 2019, at 5 p.m.

Is registration available for attendees at the conference?
Yes. On-site registration will be available at the conference at a cost of $275. We will accept credit card or purchase order payments ONLY. No cash or invoicing will be accepted.

I need to pay by check or purchase order. How do I pay?
You can pay with a check or purchase order via our online registration system. Please note: your registration and payment must be received by the noted payment deadlines in order to qualify for early bird or standard pricing.

Checks must be made out to: New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency.

What is the refund policy for attendees?
The attendee registration fee is fully refundable (less a $25 administrative fee) if the NJHMFA receives written notification postmarked or emailed no later than Friday, September 6, 2019. No refunds will be given for cancellations emailed or postmarked after Friday, September 6, 2019.

All refund requests should be sent to the attention of Cynthia Gonzalez at njhousingconference@njhmfa.gov

No refunds will be given to registrants who fail to attend. No-shows who have registered but have not paid are still liable for fees and will be invoiced. If a registrant is unable to attend, please notify Cynthia Gonzalez at njhousingconference@njhmfa.gov immediately in order to transfer the registration information.

Is my registration/ticket transferable?
If a registrant is unable to attend, please notify Cynthia Gonzalez at njhousingconference@njhmfa.gov immediately in order to transfer the attendee’s registration information.

Want to place an ad in our conference Program Book?
You can now reserve your ad within our online registration system. If you are not planning to attend the conference, you can still place an ad by choosing Program Book Ad on the Registration page.

How do I cancel a Program Book Ad?
Written cancellations that are postmarked by Friday, July 12, 2019, will be honored, less a $25 administrative fee. This refund will be returned six to eight weeks following the conference. Cancellations postmarked after Friday, July 12, 2019 will forfeit 100% of the Program Book Ad fee. Please note there will be a $35 returned check fee. Please notify Cynthia Gonzalez at njhousingconference@njhmfa.gov or at 2019 Governor's Conference on Housing and Economic Development, P.O. Box 18550, Trenton, NJ, 08650-2085.

When and how can I reserve hotel rooms?
A block of rooms has been reserved for Sunday, September 15 and Monday, September 16, 2019 at Harrah’s Resort. Rooms within this block are located closest to the conference center. For reservations, please call 1-888-516-2215 and use Group Code SH09GC9 to receive the special discounted rate of $139 (plus tax and fees) per night or reserve online using this link: https://aws.passkey.com/go/SH09GC9. Space is limited. The deadline to receive the discounted rate is 5 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019, so please make your reservations early.

Harrah’s does accept checks for hotel rooms. Checks must be made out to Harrah’s Atlantic City and sent to the below address with attention to Paola Ruales by August 15, 2019. Harrah’s does not require a Purchase Order but if the guest requires one, it can be sent to Paola for signature.

Frequently Asked Questions - Exhibitors

How do I reserve a booth and what is the cost?
You may register online to reserve a booth. All exhibitor registrations must be received by Friday, July 12, 2019. EXTENDED until July 19th

The Early Bird exhibit fee is $650 until May 31, 2019, for each 8'x10' space. The Standard exhibit fee is $699 for each 8'x10' space starting June 1, 2019.

What is the registration deadline?
All registrations must be received by Friday, July 12, 2019EXTENDED until July 19th . Meeting this deadline will allow your firm to be represented in the Trade Show listing in the conference program book. Due to printing timeline limitations, registrations received after the deadline are not guaranteed to be within the printed conference program book, but may be included as a printed addendum insert and/or distributed with our conference giveaway item.

How do I purchase ad space?
When you register online, you will be offered an opportunity to buy full-color ads in our printed conference book. Full-page ads are $525, half-page ads are $275, and quarter-page ads are just $150.

2019 Program Book Ad Specs (1.5MB PDF)

  • All files should be high resolution and no less than 300 DPI (dots per inch). If the ad is to print in color, files should be saved in 4-color process CMYK.
  • Acceptable File Formats Include: high-resolution PDF (.pdf), high-resolution JPEG or TIFF files (.jpg or .tif)
  • All logos should be made available in an Adobe Illustrator EPS file format (.eps or .ai). Please convert fonts to outlines.
  • Ads may be emailed to NJHMFA: Attn. Erica Boland at eboland@njhmfa.gov. If you have a large file and your email bounces, please email Erica for alternative file delivery methods.

What are the conference dates?
The Governor’s Conference on Housing and Economic Development takes place Monday, September 16, 2019, and Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

Where is the conference?
The Governor’s Conference on Housing and Economic Development will be held at the Waterfront Conference Center, Harrah’s Resort, in Atlantic City, N.J.

What are the Trade Show hours?
The show hours are 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019, and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

What are the exhibit setup/breakdown times?
The exhibit must be set up between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Dismantling of exhibits may not begin before 12 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

What are the conference hours?
The conference hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2019, and 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

How are booths assigned?
Within registration, the exhibitor will be given the opportunity to request their top two zones for their booth space, which are shown on our Trade Show Floor map. The booth zones are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis once the exhibitor has registered and paid in full. These zones are not guaranteed and are subject to change. Booth numbers will be supplied a month prior to the conference.

What does my booth package include?
Your booth package includes:

Can I order additional booths?
Yes, you can choose the number of booths requested when registering online.

Can I purchase tickets to the keynote luncheon?
Trade Show Exhibitors are invited to attend the keynote luncheon on Monday, September 16, 2019, to network with attendees at an additional cost of $50 per person. This option is available to you when registering online.

How do I add additional personnel to my booth?
Additional booth staff beyond the included two are available at a cost of $100 per person, which includes both breakfast meals and the second day brunch. The keynote luncheon is an additional cost of $50 per person.   

How can I order electric and internet for my booth?
All additional services and furnishings must be ordered at an additional cost or supplied by the exhibitor. Electrical and power needs must be contracted directly with the Waterfront Conference Center at Harrah’s Resort via Encore Event Technologies. For more information, please call Encore Event Technologies at (609) 340-2249.

Where can I order other booth "extras"?
All additional services and furnishings must be ordered at an additional cost or supplied by the exhibitor. Once your company has registered online, an exhibitor kit will be provided by the Trade Show servicer a few weeks prior to the event.

Can I ship my booth?
Yes. Once your company has registered online, shipping details will be provided by the Trade Show servicer a few weeks prior to the event.   

How do I pay? 
You may now register online to reserve a booth. You can only pay by check or purchase order, which must be received prior to Tuesday, August 27, 2019.  

A confirmation number for your exhibit space will be issued upon receipt of your application. Include the confirmation number on your P.O. or check payable to the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency and return to:

Frequently Asked Questions - Housing and Economic Development Hall of Fame Reception

The hosts of the New Jersey Governor’s Conference on Housing and Economic Development are kicking off its conference with the second annual Hall of Fame Reception, which will include the presentation of the 2019 Housing and Economic Development Hall of Fame Award

When will the Hall of Fame Reception take place? 
The 2019 Housing and Economic Development Hall of Fame Reception will be held on Sunday, September 15 from 7-9 p.m., at the Pool at Harrah’s. 

How do I register to attend?
While registering online to attend the Governor’s Conference on Housing and Economic Development you will be provided an option to register for the reception as well. You can register online here at njhousingconference.com. Reception space is limited, registration is first come, first served. 

What is the cost to attend the reception?
The cost, which is separate from the conference fee, is $25.

Can I attend the Hall of Fame Reception without attending the conference? 
No, you must be registered for the Governor’s Conference on Housing and Economic Development.

What is the Housing and Economic Development Hall of Fame Award? 
The award will recognize pioneers in the housing and economic development fields ranging from those who work to create, finance and develop affordable housing and economic growth opportunities to individuals who advocate, lead and educate the public on the issues.

How do I nominate someone for the Housing and Economic Development Hall of Fame Award?
While registering for the conference, you will be given an option to nominate an individual for the Hall of Fame. You will need to provide:

  • Nominee’s name
  • Title
  • Company
  • Brief description as to why you would like to nominate the person. (200 words max.)

Is there a deadline for nominations to be submitted? 

Nominations close 5 p.m. Monday, July 15.

Can I just email or call to submit the name of the person I’d like to nominate?
No. You need to register for the conference and nominate someone as part of the registration process.

Can I nominate more than one person?
Nominations are limited to one per each conference registration.

Can I nominate someone without attending the conference? 
No.

What is the refund policy for reception attendees?
The reception registration fee is fully refundable if NJHMFA receives written notification postmarked or emailed no later than Friday, September 6, 2019. No refunds will be given for cancellations emailed or postmarked after Friday, September 6, 2019. 

Is my reception registration transferable? 
If a registrant is unable to attend the reception, please email njhousingconference@njhmfa.gov immediately in order to transfer the attendee’s registration information.

Is parking provided?
Vouchers for self or valet parking will be provided for conference attendees, including reception guests. 

What should I wear?
Dress is business casual.

Are there other admission requirements?
A photo ID is required. Attendees must be 21 or older.
