Competition for recruiting travel nurses is fierce, meaning staffing firms need to stand out to recruit in this market, and many travelers have a variety of options to choose from. How can travelers ensure they are getting placed in positions where they are building successful client relationships while being compensated fairly? What do recruiters need to do to attract and retain good travelers? In this session, we will hear from both sides as to what it takes to achieve a win-win for both travelers and staffing firms.

Tax Reform and Healthcare Staffing | Mineral ABC
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed in December of 2017 contains sweeping changes that went into effect this year, and these changes impact the healthcare staffing market in several ways. Employees can no longer deduct unreimbursed business expenses such as mileage and meals. The corporate tax rate is reduced to 21%, benefiting profitable staffing firms but not non-profit hospitals directly. In response to these changes, will some hospitals try to lower bill rates, and will travelers demand higher wages? Additionally, travelers may increasingly seek to work as independent contractors to benefit from the new pass through deductions, which provide a 20% tax cut of business income. If these changes have your head spinning, this session will make sense of it all and give you strategies on how your staffing firm should respond.
