2019 Leaders In Action

Purpose of the Scholarship

CAGT, in collaboration with The Foundation for Colorado Gifted and Talented, is proud to offer Leaders in Action, a scholarship designed to support current principals in creating a stronger gifted program within their school. The Leaders in Action Scholarship is intended to support current Colorado Principals interested in growing or strengthening his or her school's GT program.  Selected candidates will be partnered with a mentor and will attend CAGT's Annual Conference which this year includes keynote addresses by Jim Delisle and Lisa Van Gemert. Scholarship winners will self-select break-out sessions related to the individual needs of their school-based gifted programs. Additionally, candidates will participate in the Leadership Forum (breakfast included), held on Tuesday, October 22nd with leaders in gifted education from across Colorado.

Upon completion of the conference, scholarship recipients will work with their mentor to complete an impact project within their school utilizing their new knowledge and network. An article communicating the impact project and its results will be collaboratively written by each recipient and his/her mentor and published in CAGT's Kaleidoscope prior to the next annual conference. In this way, the learning and work from the scholarship recipients can be shared with the greater GT community to spark further ideas around programming for gifted learners.

The 2019 CAGT Conference: A Gifted State of Mind will take place on October 21 and 22, 2019 at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in Loveland, CO. For additional conference information please go to coloradogifted.org, Events, Conference.
